A. Kinematics Problems ____________ 1. Based on the angle, how high did it go?

____________ 2. Based on the time in the air, how high did it go?

____________ 3. v_max is the velocity a rocket has when it runs out of fuel, on its way up. This generally happens pretty close to the ground, just above the launching pad, so, when analyzing a rocket's entire trip, we treat v_max as if it is the rocket's v_i. Based on the height you found in #2, what was your rocket's v_max?

____________ 4. If your rocket reached it's v_max (from #3) in 150ms, what was its rate of acceleration during launch (between pulling the pin and reaching )?

B. Dynamics Problems - There is only 1 equation to use: F=ma

____________ 5. What is the weight of your rocket?

____________ 6. So, how much Force would the engine have to apply to make the rocket hover? ____________ 7. If there were no gravity, how much force would need to be applied to make your rocket accelerate to its max velocity in 0.15s?

____________ 8. So how hard did the engine really push for those 0.15s?

C. Graph a rocket's motion from time 0, until it landed. Hopefully, you noticed that it accelerated off the launch stand for less than half a second, then was in an unpowered glide for the rest of its flight. Your vertical axes should be displacement, then velocity. Be mindful of the position of the horizontal axis for the second graph. Hint: What is the slope of most of your second graph?
