Dark Skies with good transparancy is becomming more of a problem with each passing year in Lower Delawares coastal communities. Skies near Rehoboth Beach stay aglow with a dome of light that can be spotted from many miles away, yet this glow, like that which draws moths to a flame, keeps hoards of people returning to the area week after week and even as property values soar and single bathroom cottages fetch over half a million dollars, the buying continues unabatted. For those fortunate enough to have some acreage around the burnt swamp area of Gumboro, the seeing is at least tolerable, and it is this area that could make for a worthwhile location for a Lower Delaware star party. Days at the Beach, nights under the stars. What could possibly be better?
