Hands-On UniverseEdit

  1. The main "readme" file suggests you drag stuff to your desktop before trying to install it.
  2. In the folder called "Class Specific", there is a file called "hou_readme_pc" open that and it should explain everything.

HomeworkEdit

Don't forget to find out when your zodiac constellation is most visible (at what time of year) and where it's located in the sky!!!--Sadavy 22:30, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the reminder!!!!!Altmantl 23:34, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

You can pretty much stop looking for the moon for a while. (I wonder if you've figured out why yet.) We will resume that project in less than 2 weeks. I will check notebooks Tuesday, so that when we do begin looking for Luna again, it will be on a new page of the observation journal. Leesonma 02:42, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Pick a night and go out as many times as possible, one hour separating each observation, and draw your North. Hold your notebook about a foot in front of your face. That is the size of the section of the sky you should be observing. This assignment is due by Tuesday (Sep 4). Expect me to check Observation journals at any moment. ResourcesEdit

You can have a planetarium on your desktop anytime you like, if you download this WinZip file, unzip it into its own folder (example c:\SkyGlobe), and double click on the file called "skyglobe.exe". RightClick on SkyGlobe, and choose "Save Link as...".

Download the latest version of Google Earth for a more detailed and current planetarium, but it will only work if you are on the internet.

Feel free to ask questions and discuss these programs in the "Discussion" page associated with this page.
